No-Sew Pillowed Beach Towel

Summer is in full swing. If you're like me you're spending a lot of time near the water. The kids are enjoying swimming: whether in the pool, lake or ocean and you're enjoying a few books. This pillowed beach towel is so easy to make you can make and is great for lounging by the water!

  • Beach Towel
  • Fusible Bonding Web (I like to use Stitch Witchery)
  • Fiber Fill (Confession: I used "Glimmer Snow Blanket". It was $0.15 when I got it at Target after Christmas last year.)
  • Iron and Ironing board
  • Scissors

1. Decide how large of a pillow you want and fold down one end of the towel. I choose to make one 11" tall.  Make sure it is the same on both side: ie. It's folded STRAIT across.

 2. Measure out the bonding web (mine was 11") and lay along one of the short sides of the 'pillow'.

 3. Iron according to the bonding web instructions.

4. Measure out the bonding web and lay along the bottom of the 'pillow'. This will be as long as your towel is wide.

 5. Fill with fiber fill to the desired firmness. (You can see some of the 'glimmer' in my cotton here.)

6. It's easiest if you can get a 'third hand' (Rosey Posey helped me out) to hold down the pillow and allow a stead work area for the last 'stitch'.

7. Repeat steps 2 & 3 to finish off the final side of the pillow.

This took me about 5 minutes to make. It can be made for anywhere from $4 to $25+ depending on the towel you use. (I personally spent $7.15 on this project thanks to my cheep fiber fill AKA Snow.) This is also a great idea for a toddler nap mat.
